The cruise departs from and returns to the Telaga Harbour Marina in the northwest of Langkawi, Malaysia. We'll sail towards Ko Tarutao, which belongs to a National Marine Park of the same name in Thailand, a few miles north of the border with Malaysia.
A thick jungle covers the hilly central part of the island, while mangrove forests interspersed with limestone cliffs can be found on the east coast. The long white sand beaches that stretch along the west coast are a true haven for the turtles which come here to nest between December and February. Chances are great that you encounter a few inhabitants of Ko Tarutao during your excursion; crab-eating macaques, wild pigs, calais, kingfishers and many other species can be spotted here whilst on Golden Opus..

Once you're settled comfortably on board, we'll sail towards the Buntang Archipelago in the Thai waters. 20 nautical miles northwest of Langkawi. The mainly inhabited island is Koh Lope. Paradoxically, it's not the largest of the group as both Koh Rawi and Ko Adang are larger. Covered by a luxuriant tropical rainforest and bordered by magnificent beaches lapped by crystal-clear waters, these two islands are a true remote paradise.
The archipelago is home to exceptional coral reefs which offer first class snorkelling opportunities. A great spot to enjoy this activity is Koh Tanga, between Koh Lipe and Koh Tarutao. It hosts fish in abundance and is why we always make a stop.

KOH ADANG
The dramatic mountains of Ko Adang loom over Ko Lipe like protective uncles rooted in jungle. These two islands are so close together that when arriving in Lipe at Pattaya Beach, many visitors assume that Adang's bulging slopes are part of Lipe's interior. In fact, the two neibouburs in Mu Ko Tarutao National Marine Park coils hardly be more different. The island's name comes from the Malay word (udang,) meaning "prawn," and the surrounding sea was once full of them.
KOH RAWI
Koh Rawi is the large island of almost the same size as Koh Adang surrounded by many rocks, high steep cliffs, clean white sandy beaches and clear sea offering quietness for relaxation. Having the forest trek at Talopalian Bay and Leuk Bay of white sand which is so-called the most prominent beach stretching at hundred meters where the National Park Ranger Unit is situated.
KOH TANGAN
The smaller island to the east of Koh Tanga is rarely visited, very pretty and usually offers sufficient shelter for an overnight stay. Part of the Tarutao National park. Only one island, Koh like, has any significant permanent habitation. Koh Tangan offers great opportunities for both snorkelers and scuba divers. Especially on the South West side the eater is usually very clear and there are plenty of interesting reefs waiting to be exploited.
